The 3rd Highlands Eichler Home Tour was a huge success. Eleven families opened the doors of their homes to the general public, helping raise over $70,000 for the local Highlands Elementary school.

In addition to the homes and the great weather, guests enjoyed attractions at  the event hub which included a mid-century movie lounge decked out by Janakos with authentic period furniture to relax in while viewing both the Lombardelli film People in Glass Houses and a newly created documentary on the history of the San Mateo Eichler Highlands. The hub also had a restored Airstream to tour, an auction of paintings by the late Chris Ranes, Eichler specialists and vendors to meet, and a catered lunch by Sataysfied.

The event booklet was a piece of art in and of itself. Forty pages of highlights, pictures, and details and contact information for our favorite Eichler artists and service providers. The event tour poster is also quite magnificent this year. We have a few booklets and posters set aside which you can still purchase.

This year’s event offered a shuttle that helped guests get to the remote locations, save time, and was a courtesy to our guests with limited mobility. Most guests walked most of the time, meeting new friends and fellow Eichler enthusiasts as they made their journey.

Thank you to all our tour guests who traveled near and far to spend the weekend with us. Thanks to all our amazing preferred service providers and sponsors for supporting our event and their continued quality work on these special homes. Thanks to our featured artists for the set up and travel to be with us to show your amazing work. Thanks to the countless volunteers who gave their time for this event.  Thanks to our wonderful Eichler neighborhood community, who come together to host this fabulous and large audience.

When is the next tour? No date is set, but it is likely to be in May of 2017.
